Just thought I'd update for the fun of it.
I haven't stopped creating stuff, I still open PS up every week. I have multiple works that I haven't released because I really feel like they're not as good as I feel like they should be, but they're still worth sharing no matter, so I might be uploading some of those just to add stuff to my gallery. But that's still a maybe, the fact is, it's not very inspiring to do much of anything, because it's nothing like signature forums used to be like. You could get 20 comments on just a simple tag, here, unless you've somehow hit it big with a DD or you are EXTREMELY skillful, it's going to be tough to break and get any feedback which would feed the creativity. This is also one of the things that's been keeping me away, just not very inspiring to post something and not get anything out of it, some care less than others, but I just happen to fall on the wrong side of that. I don't even have a clue if there's actually anyone out there that would like to see me keep going. All of that and there's also the fact I'm so tired of just having to work and having some other problems coupled with that.
For the actual topic though, I did manage to talk myself into creating the cover for Sky Technology's album, and even getting paid for it! Super happy how it turned out. Album might be coming either late late this year or early next year on Sita Records, a record label that focuses on the so called nitzhogoa, Fusion of two genres close to each others. Nizhonot is an electronic music style that follows the style of goatrance, but has cheesy melodies which's aim is rather epic, more complex and in your face melodies, but often falls short on the epic and complex. Nitzhogoa is a fusion of the best part of nitzhonot melodies but the seriousness of goatrance. Explaining the main styles would take a bit of time but I'll just mention it's melodic high energy electronic dance music which has another name that is called Psychedelic trance.
Good example of the proper fusion

Now as for the creation of the cover itself. I've at a point where the front, inlay and back covers are done and I have booklet pages 2 3 and 4 and the CD ring left to do and I must say, making an album cover is harder that it seriously looks like. The technical headache of correct sizes, will this align right and all sort of technical fiddling is really, really headache inducing and time consuming - especially with text if your goal is to do something different than what you'd see on average. If you have mild OCD for being a perfectionist, this really is going to cause so much trouble and staying consistent is always an issue. Creating a separate piece for every part of the CD is time consuming and a lot of brainstorming. This one of the first times I've practically sketched everything aside from the cover on what would work well. I see plenty of artworks that are just repeated throughout the CD and I'm not surprised at all why this is. Obviously, having just band pictures or something really simplistic takes a lot of the headache out, but if you go on about creating unique relatively detailed artwork for it, it will take a damn while.
Until next time, whenever that'll be.
